It was classic bait and switch. Get people talking about this so they aren't paying attention to stuff like Iraq and children's healthcare.
People like O'Reilly and Limbaugh make a huge deal about the fruitcake president of Iran speaking at a college, but they don't say two words in public when Blackwater Security guns down a dozen innocent people in Baghdad.
If we had more colleges hosting foreign leaders, especially the dangerous ones, we'd all be better off. No, these conservatives already know it all. That's why Iraq turned out so well. Meanwhile, Iran became a bigger threat to world peace than Saddam Hussein ever was, and now we're too bogged down in Iraq to do anything about it.
Yeah, trust this here new breed of Republicans. They've got it all figured out.
I just pray to God that if things with Iran get worse, the Republicans aren't the ones in charge, because no matter how bad things start, they only get worse with them in charge. They wouldn't know a good decision if one bit 'em on the ass.

I come from a world that has had to endure the excesses of the extremes of both the Left and the Right for over 7 decades, and the extremes of Religion for over 1000 years.
America was established to escape from all that nonsense, but now seems to be determined to make MY dark history into thier destiny. Don't let it happen.

czech_mate, your point is greatly appreciated, and I think many millions of Americans would love to work together with their ideological opponents, but as I'm sure you would attest to, that's not easy to do.
What do you do when one side in a disagreement won't play by the rules? How long can a person be expected to be reasonable when their opponent won't?

But I hope that if you visit my site again, I hope you see that my criticism of the right wing isn't founded in hate. Please don't interpret my attempts at humor and satire as hatred. I don't hate Republicans at all. Many of my closest friends and family call themselves Republicans.
I would never say that I hate any group of people. People are people, and people of all colors, creeds and political affiliations should be judged by their individual acts.
