Pelosi rejects C-SPAN request to air new reality TV show, The Real House, during Sweeps Week

Actually, Pelosi rejected a C-SPAN request to let them control the cameras in the House of Representatives. I'm with Pelosi on this one. Anyone who's ever edited a home movie on their computer knows how fancy camerawork and editing can be used to sensationalize a story, zooming in on someone's face as they snicker about something unrelated. No, C-SPAN does a great job doing exactly what they do now. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

The public service network has provided gavel-to-gavel television coverage of House proceedings since 1979. But the House leader has kept control of the cameras, with coverage generally limited to tight shots of the speaker or the podium.

The situation is similar in the Senate, which C-SPAN has televised since 1986.
